Takumi Bbq - Ottawa

Came here with my husband for a date night, and it was AMAZING!!My husband is an avid AYCE bbq fan. The portions were so big that we couldn’t even finish the two we ordered for ourselves. We got the duck breast beef rib fingers and they were both so flavourful. We added perilla leaf and thin Chinese wraps on the side to eat with the BBQ, and both complimented the taste of the meat so well. The sesame sauce red sauce were amazing.They were also very accommodating to my peanut/nut allergy and the waitress knew exactly the dishes I could not get (sometimes it takes some asking around within the staff and uncertainty to get an answer).The server was so kind, explained everything thoroughly and provided recommendations.We had a wonderful experience, this is a must try for asian bbq lovers!

Really awesome Chinese BBQ. Massive portions of meat and great side dishes. If you enjoy KBBQ or Dongbei cuisine, this'll be right up your alley.

Excellent service. Food came quickly. We got prime beef and lamb shoulder for BBQ both good quality and well marinated. The portions are huge so plan budget accordingly when ordering I read the reviews before we went so we were OK). With the current menu, you should go with a group of 3+ people.Tapioca vermicelli 东北大拉皮 dongbei dalapi) was on special when we went, and it was really good!Nice ambiance cool decor, good music, clean, and sufficient ventilation important for BBQ/hotpot places).Suggestions: maybe separate the Chinese pancakes before serving even just the top 3 layers so the customers know that they are supposed to be very thin. They were all stuck together and looked more like thick tortillas and we wasted the first $5 plate, not knowing they were supposed to be all separated. The 2nd order we got we separated them enjoyed the thin pancakes. add more appetizer type items to the menu, and include more vegetable options that are not for BBQ. Even just cucumber salad would be good. Right now it is very meat heavy.Kid friendliness: No diaper change table. No kid friendly plates or cutlery. Not sure if they have high chairs.Parking: 2 free parking spots in front of the restaurant.Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible. There are stairs to the restaurant and stairs to go to the washroom from the dining area.

Extremely kind waitress with very fast service.The BBQ was delicious and portions very generous. Their assortment of dipping sauces and spice mix was incredible. 1 plate of meat per person is more than enough. We ordered 6 plates among 4 people and had to bring a lot home! This is a great spot for BBQ and I will be coming again ?
