Lunch on a Friday (with reservation for 6 diners) My experience has been that Lone Star has never been quick, rather a place for a leisurely lunch but not for a business or clock watching lunch. After this, not a place for lunch at all. I go there often enough to know they were busier than usual mostly due to a very large group. Who had a reservation so the restaurant did not prepare for a big group they knew were coming! The food was great, when it finally arrived. Our server was friendly and helpful, but also disappeared when the waiting time for food grew. Had to ask for drink refills and the alcohol drinkers were never asked about a second drink.. Got the impression she was embarrassed by how slow the kitchen was. Can't blame her! My go to restaurant for dining in it seems I need a new place to go. I don't mind spending 2 hours in a restaurant but not if 3/4 of that time is waiting for food!
Never had issues from this place but I normally dine in. I Ordered uber eats from here for the first time and it was not good. The food was stone cold by the time it arrived. The lettuce, the tomatoes and the guacamole were off in terms of colour and did not smell fresh. Furthermore I did not receive any tortilla shells with my order of fajitas.
I took my mom to Lone Star for dinner, it used to be one of her favourite restaurant chains in Ottawa. Unfortunately we wont be returning. We were seated at a table that was not cleaned properly. Clean cutlery should not be placed directly on the table’s surface, especially if the table isn’t clean. Server gave us very dirty plates that we returned. Chips and dip were a huge disappointment- chips were heavily salted and the dip was bland. We had half steak half buffalo chicken fajitas, steak had no seasoning or salt on it. The side of fries we ordered came out cold.We didn’t enjoy the food at all. Although Sunshine the server was nice, we won’t be back. Waste of money!
Overall, a poor dining experience. Nothing worse than spending over $180 and being swarmed with fruit flies throughout our meal. There are easy and effective ways to control this issue. This totally impacted our dining experience and is gross.Update: Management followed up and informed me of a plan recently implemented to eliminate this issue. I appreciate the quick follow up and this matter has been resolved to my satisfaction. Thank you.
Everything was perfect to me. Friendly service, very nice taste of steak just like I had it in Houston. But, you may not get forks since they often forget providing them. If so, ask them quickly before your dishes get cold.
