Island Grill Restaurant - Ottawa

I've been eating authentic jamaican food for my entire life and I gotta say I was pretty disappointed. The rice peas didn't have any hints of coconut at all and the j chicken was flavorless.The fried plantain was great and made well and so was the oxtail. I was really hoping to find some good jamaican food here in Ottawa but it seems I'll have to go back to Toronto to really get my fix.

Their food is amazing, I never order from any other Jamaican spot now, but they only put small pieces of plantain (1 Sometimes 2) that is my only complaint, if it wasn’t for that it would be 5 stars!

Very good customer service, food is amazing and portions are great. I would definitely recommend this place.

Easy access on bank street for anybody working centertown.If you have never had Caribbean/island food, this is the spot.My personal fave (Ox tail) won't do you wrong!!

This place is 5 star worthy!!! I was visiting town and wanted to have a taste of Caribbean and they delivered. Good portions and decent prices too. I recommend the j chicken salad, very flavourful.Everyone was very respectful too, drop in and get yourself some delicious food.
