R Grotto - Ottawa

I?ve gone to this restaurant multiple times and every time, it gets worse. The food is okay. If you order, I would recommend takeout. The reason being is the service is awful. The last two times I have gone here, I waited on my waitress for 20+ minutesto get boxes and the check. The second to last time I ate here, the waitress gave us our food and then we never saw her again.Drinks ran out, we needed napkins, and we wanted to order dessert. Once we finally ordered dessert, it took 30 minutes for it tocome out. This last time I ate here, I had to approach the bartender to help me out. She was very kind and got us everything weneeded before we even saw our waitress again. Our waitress, on the other hand couldn?t even give us the time of day. We weren?tgiven silverware, our drinks ran out, and we were never checked on. We waited for 20 minutes for boxes and our check to come outwhile she was sitting in the kitchen. Being a waitress myself, you don?t disregard your tables like that. This place needs a lotof help when it comes to their service staff.

Had my moms birthday dinner tonight. Food and everything was very good. We don't live in the area anymore, so coming back is always nice.

Ordered the deep dish Monday night special. Had it delivered and it was timely and hot. Pizza was great for the price... altho we got sausage instead of the pepperoni that we ordered. The sausage was decent, so not a problem. We will definitely orderagain :

We were excited to try the place based on the reviews and menu but this place desperately failed to live up to the reviews. We both ordered food that had the meat sauce or what ever you call it, that was the worst sauce we had ever ate. It was dry,bland, and flavorless. We were both so disappointed in our meals. We both left the restaurant hungry and disappointed as neitherof us finished our meals it was so bad. Really wish we never set foot in the restaurant and wasted our money. Avoid this place!

I had such a craving and couldn't wait until 4 when it opens. It was worth the wait. My pizza was yummy and the bar tender was friendly.
