Bidrage med feedbackMy daughter and I were looking for a good coffee and a place to sit and talk. After a few misfires recommended for other Oswego coffee dishes, the local taste of the world. We were not disappointed. We received great coffee and tea, and personablen yet non-nonsense service. The store was clean, filled with unique gourmet food, and the latte and tea-latte we ordered were well made. My daughter noticed that the espresso was the right strength: it was full of taste without exaggerating the drink. I was also impressed that they had a good selection of teas. Her Golden Monkey is a well balanced Chinese tea with Malty Notes; Just like the coffee latte, it was mixed with steamed milk and in this case well supplemented with a shot of vanilla beans. The prices were fair. Although there are no seats in the store and the high ceilings in the hallway, where you make it a bit cool on a winter day, everything else makes more than that. When we were just gone, I noticed that Barista had set himself a minute at a table with some of the customers when the shop was not so busy - a nice show of the community. We found Taste the World a local business with high-quality tea and coffee, sophisticated service and a sense of roots.
I had both latte and cappuccino. Espresso is more on the bitter side... probably a result of overtamping and not timing the shots. Wasn't impressed when I saw Torani Sirupe. But they have at least made a house vanilla and I enjoyed that instead, as I refuse, Torani have syrups in my cup. They don't really advertise the house vanilla syrup made and I only experienced it during my second visit. The owner is also very nice. Some of the other employees are not as friendly as they are, but nevertheless the service is not bad. I was also happy to see them with a Diedrich Brater, as it is one of the better roasting machines on the market. All in all, I would recommend it.
Bottom line: The best coffee/coffee experience in Oswego, NY Taste the World is embedded in a scenic small shopping street with a hairdresser shop (which has a beer **** when you get a hairstyle) and boutique fashion business, so if you are not looking for coffee, it is sometimes difficult to find. Do not make a mistake though: Try The world is the first-class coffee experience in Oswego, NY. All beans are roasted and brewed in the house, people passionate about coffee and they speer a new local economic development initiative with AppCard. Sean gave us a taste the world tour, showed us the roasting process, explained the cool drip coffee system (that is a very nice decor they have in the house) and made us feel at home. You can even order a coffee online that I make as a resident of Long Island. You can try Port City Cafe Bakery, Oswego Tea Company and all the others, but they are good at other things. When it comes to coffee, Taste the World has no substitute. Update (05/21/2013 9:18a): If you are unfamiliar with all kinds of coffee and novelty drinks, Sean can answer all my questions.
Finally, you have to taste the blood orange tea. I love it. Can have changed my life, or at least my morning. .
Really good coffee beans and great coffee drinks that are well made and not ridiculously expensive.
