Bidrage med feedbackI discovered this restaurant 4 years ago and have gone there regularly since since they have an amazing vegan menu. I highly recommend the uba rolls. Best asian fusion in town. Also the chef is really nice and began recognizing me!
Fun concept where you can order a bit of everything. The food was delicious Good service. They had wonderful edamame beans and the buns were very nice
Delicious food, we all loved it, fantastic friendly staff. We tried a mix of almost everything I’m in the menu and it was all great. The kids loved the bao buns
This restaurant was recommended to me by a friend, who was very satisfied with Asian Box. Therefore I had high expectations. A negative review of the place in Norway’s largest newspaper the day before my visit, made me curious about what to expect. Obviously the negative review had made several guests cancel their reservations, because as we arrived around 8 p.m. on a Thursday right before Christmas, we were the only guests. And during our time at the restaurant, only two other guests came. Well, at least we didn’t have to worry about the waitresses and the kitchen having too much to do! Thus the service was friendly and attentive. The menu is not all that extensive, but filled with interesting Asia cross over dishes. Most choose the sharing dishes, just as we did. The salmon with oyster foam was good, as were the mussels and the mushroom dish. But not quite the highlight my friend had told me about. And the portions are quite small, so this is not the place to go if you’re really hungry. 4 6 sharing dishes are recommended for 2 people to share. I’d say you need 6 8 dishes if you don’t want to walk away still a bit hungry. The wine menu is rather short, but the wines that they offer are good and carefully selected. The wine prices are also very acceptable compared to comparable restaurants. All in all, the place is worth visiting, so I do not agree with the newspaper review. However, the selection of sharing dishes could have been a bit larger (especially as you need quite some dishes to get enough food), alternatively, the dishes could be a bit larger. Due to the almost empty restaurant when we visited, the place lacked the flair. But that’s probably better when there are more guests.
We were 5 people and foodies. We tried a variety of Tapas and entrees. Johnny Wuvwas a great curator of our experience. We got the salmon with mousse. Chicken and Pork Belly entrees. Tapas were steamed buns, tuna with truffle, shrimp fried with black sesame. We had a lot more too.
