Bidrage med feedbackWhen visiting Osilo we always make a point of dining at this interesting and unusual restaurant and have always been very impressed. For some reason I decided to read some of the comments from other diners and was distressed to read such negative comments from a couple of the writers. I wondered if some disaster had befallen the place since our previous visit two years ago. I am pleased to say that the two visits I made in September lived up to all my expectations. Still offering the same unique dining experience with the same good quality food. Reading the previous comments makes me ask are we actually talking about the same place! I think perhaps the writers need to see what else is on offer around the world and the prices charged for so much less. We were a party of eight on our first visit last month and our six Australian friends, who had never been before, absolutely loved it. We went again a couple of weeks later with two other friends on a visit from UK and they were also charmed by the presentation and quality of the food. On this visit we were spoiled by our hosts, being offered an extra of gnocchi sardi. A four course meal with wine and beer inclusive for 30 euro a head is amazing value.
We went to this restaurant, on the recommendation of friends, to try porceddu. Don't go if you are expecting a pristine modern restaurant as it is a traditional Sardinian place located at the top of a hill. When we arrived, our pig was being cooked above an open fire. The whole meal (inc digestif), all freshly cooked, with lovely friendly service was the best I experienced in Sardinia and certainly the best value for money!
