We arrived right at noon, and there were a few small groups ahead of us waiting for a table. We could see that there were some open tables that just needed to be cleared, so we didn’t t have to wait too long. It is a relatively large restaurant with seating for about 200, mainly booth style. The clientele was mostly grey-haired. <br/ <br/ After we were seated we were greeted by one of the most cheerful and bubbly servers that I have ever seen. She seemed to enjoy doing what she was doing, and it was very refreshing to see that. <br/ <br/ After looking over the menu for a couple of minutes, SWBMO chose Bacon and Tomato from the Sandwich section, and opted for rye bread. The sandwich did come with lettuce, so it was very much a classic BLT. The dish was 6.99 and included a side; SWMBO picked fries. The fries were a medium cut and nice and crispy on the outside. <br/ <br/ I ordered the Greek Salad regular size, 6.99) and added Diced Chicken 2.99) and upgraded to White Meat 0.99) for a total of 11.97). When the salad arrived you could barely see the salad under the mound of diced chicken. For the price, it was a very good portion. On the downside, the chicken was a bit dry and needed some kind of sauce or dressing. Even some of the Greek salad dressing would have helped. After I ate some of the chicken I got to a point where I could mix it with the rest of the salad. <br/ <br/ I rarely mention a server by name in my reviews. They don’t wear name tags at this restaurant, so when I was paying at the front counter I asked for our server’s name. MacKenzie was special. Well done!<br/ <br/ So a 3 for the food and a 5 for the service. <br/
The best Chicken and Lettuce Under Bacon (club) sandwich in the Greater Toronto Area bar none. Plus, their coleslaw and fries are always fresh and their beer's always cold. Staff is friendly without being intrusive and you're never rushed opposite to experiences at Oshawa's Teddy's Restaurant and Deli. Great place to pass the time with a drink and a friend.
I ordered the family chicken and ribs meal, chicken pot pie, and bundt cake. The staff was helpful and friendly. The food was delicious. The cake was exceptional - it was soft and moist.
Went for breakfast on my birthday. Our first visit back here since the start of Covid. First person we saw was our favourite waitress Daniel. She remembered us and our orders in spite of 18+ month of not seeing us. Food was awesome as usual. Highly recommended.
I don't understand why people would rate this restaurant anything less than 5 stars. I have been here for breakfast multiple times and discovered it through my grandparents. The prices are very reasonable and the breakfasts have a comfortable, homey feel. There is always a kind lady with dark, long hair working when we visit for breakfast. I hope to continue coming here as long as they are open. I pray that Covid doesn't force this restaurant to close.
