Casale Hortensiae

Nice eating from local ingredients, but the host is pushy and unpleasant, especially if they stay longer. garden needs cleaning. I would recommend buying an environmentally friendly wash powder instead of force people to use the same serviettes for the entire stay (in non friendly wise)

We arrived unannounced (rude i know) and elisabeth managed to serve us a three-course menu without fuss! we had an salat with a tahini-based dressing, soup and artichoke heart spaghetti - mainly from her garden! and that was all in a farmhouse kitchen, with fireplace, used like cat (with kitten,) dog and donkey! we enjoyed this look into the Italian country and vegan to boot! What else could we ask?

Casale hotensaie was really a dream. my man and I drove from rom to Umbria and stopped on casale for lunch on the way. The hostess was ready for us when we arrived in this beautiful jewel in the hills of orte. our meal has been specially prepared for us. it wasn't 5 star restaurant quality, but it was delicious home style cooking. the chef was a very sweet lady from venezuela. the anwesen is beautiful and quiet with a clean pool and garden. we did not go into any of the rooms, but the house looked spacious, clean and well maintained. this is an excellent place to go when they rest, calm and natural beauty with amazing landscape views of weeping and hilling. there were 2 friendly dogs on the property. I like dogs, but many people are allergic so I didn't think it was a good idea to have them there.
