Bidrage med feedbackReally expected more after reading all the raving reviews but was disappointed over the cost and quality. I've experienced amazing Italian scratch kitchens and was anticipating the same starting with reservations. After being seated, it was obvious to the most casual observer that the regulars will get better service than the non regular ones. I like service to be steady, not too fast as you'd like to enjoy the food, but don't want to sit and wait to place your order while watching a table turn twice before you get an order in. Found that the creamed red sauce for the gnocchi tasted like Campbell's tomato soup with milk. Idk, maybe a coincidence. The food was ok but not equal to the price they commanded in Ormond Beach... this isn't NYC, WBP, or Miami. Hopefully this review helps your decision. I've tried it once, won't go back.
Service food was excellent with the exception of the 2nd serving of bread that was burnt. Recently moved to the area so we did an internet search for an Italian restaurant. The prices were on the higher side for being located in a strip mall. Wife and I enjoyed our shared Ceasar salad entrees. We took off 1 star for the burnt bread which we felt was a shame to have been served.
Staff and owners were very welcoming, friendly and attentive. Food served is not authentic Italian, however. Gnocchi was hard and heavy, instead of light and pillowy, tortellini was overcooked and drowned in tomato sauce that tasted like something out of a store bought jar. Overpriced for quality offered.
Food was small portions and over priced. Regular patrons that were seated well after us received their food before us. We had reservations at 5 pm. The sauce from my lobster and shrimp dish, tasted like cream of Campbells soup. My spouse ordered spaghetti, meatballs were burnt. Small portion on noddles as well. Left the one meatball on the dish. Will not be doing back.
This restaurant apparently has a very loyal local following. Service was unhurried, but attentive. Unfortunately, I ordered an entree recommended by our server with filet tips in a cream sauce over pasta that turned out to be very heavy on mushrooms--more mushrooms than beef, with heavy mushroom flavor in the sauce--and I do not like mushrooms. It was a very unfortunate and disappointing selection. Nothing wrong with the dish, other than a poor description by the server. My wife's ceasar salad and two meatballs were good. The menu does not include lasagna or baked ziti. A touch of sticker shock on the menu prices. Reservations are suggested.
