Novotel la Source Restaurant - Orléans

Awesome and disappointing overestimated. An average meal at £16 min for a burger and chips and £17 for a salad is overpriced for the serving size and quality. Burger came with Pommes, but no salad like advertised, children's dishes came without chips, like... shipped. Waitress nice, but not harassed that the main meal was not as it should not be. It was very busy and felt like they needed more staff. It was mentioned twice, but nothing was done. Children's menu £12 for 2 courses- quite standard. It was good in comfort. But not worth the money.

I stayed two nights at this hotel during a business visit. All very clean, staff is friendly and attentive, breakfast is good and internet connection very good. Although some offers (e.g. an Xbox to play) are made for younger guests, I assume it's not... a perfect family hotel.

This is our 5th stay at this hotel on the way back from the UK to break up the journey and as usual the staff were very nice and friendly. We asked for a quiet upstairs room which we got. Rooms are spacious and warm...and the Wifi very quick in fact quicker than ours at home in the Dordogne. We always book in for the evening meal to save us wandering around looking for somewhere to eat because we don't get there till about 6pm. I remember the last time we were there we had to send something back. We were very disapointed with the meal this time too. We were tired so just opted for a main course. I ordered braised chuck steak with mash potato and green beans. The steak hadn't seen a frying pan and it looked grey in colour. It tasted as if it had been microwaved with a bit of congealed sauce on top. The beans tasted like frozen ones and the mash tasted of packet mash. My husband did a bit better than me and ordered breast of chicken (very small) with mixed veg which again tasted as if it was from a frozen packet and chips (frozen). These dishes were from the Carte menue so not cheap. You would think a nice hotel like that would cook some fresh food not cheap frozen stuff and charge top prices. We didn't complain because our French isn't fantastic but we didn't order anything else. At least the red wine was nice. We hear the French say that English food isn't good but believe me we have beem to so many restaurants over here which are dreadful.. So much for the French gastronomy. Sorry just had to say. As we checked out this morning the receptionist asked if we had a good stay so my husband mentioned the meal and she asked if we had complained and we told her we hadn't so she said she will speak to the restaurant manager when she comes on duty and will email us later.... We will see. Don't think we will stay there again because the food has gone down hill although the all you can eat breakfast is excellent.

A nice setting with good food choice for adults and children. The service was very good and quality of food was above average for a hotel restaurant.

Simple and effective! all the chosen dishes were very well executed, well presented and tasty. Quick service (we were alone!)
