Bidrage med feedbackWe went there for dinner last night and it was absolutely awful. I guess our warning sign should’ve been that there was only one other table there when we got there. I feel so bad for the waitress we had as this was her second night on the job we went for the all you could eat prime rib, which was absolutely disgusting. It tasted like it had been sitting there for a week, and it was cold. We then went to the salad bar/buffet. The lettuce was slimy and nasty, and the food in the buffet had not been touched and also look like it had been there for a week upon discussing with our waitress how awful our food was she went up to talk to the staff and rather than a manager or the chef coming out to speak with us. They sent this poor girl back to ask us what was wrong with our food, she then went back and reported they then came back and said that they were going to take the prime rib off, but we were still charged $50 for two of us for that nasty buffet. I would not recommend this place to take my dog to eat very sad that such a beautiful building and such a beautiful setting has such a nasty food and poor management.
We came for the Valentines prime rib dinner and my girlfriend decided to get the steak and lobster instead as it tuned out , her steak must have been cooked while rancid as it smelled rotten and tasted the same . The rest of the food was nursing home quality at best . The decor was actually much like a nursing home .I remember the old Manor and this is nothing at all even close . The whole experience was disappointing and gross.
Just had our daughters wedding there on the boat than reception in the restaurant. Food was amazing, staff was so friendly and easy to work with and very affordable. We will definitely be having all our events with them.
We just had our wedding at Maxson’s we absolutely loved how open and easy the staff was to work with! We had our ceremony out on the deck our rehearsal in the banquet hall. Both areas were absolutely stunning! We had a Saturday wedding we were able to go in as early as Thursday and set stuff up (since the hall wasn’t being used) which was a huge stress relief for me! They let us be creative in our own ways for decorations, desserts, food menu bar! They served us family style and we had plenty of food to go around it was all delicious with great prices! Staff was there to assist us in anyways we needed while we set up, cleaned up and just about anything we needed or wanted they were more than happy to help us. I 1000/10 recommend Maxson for your wedding or other small event! We had around 80 people and the banquet hall was perfect for that size! With plenty of extra room for dessert, card tables and dancing! For weddings the whole area outside Maxson’s has great places for the photographer’s to take pictures with different scenic views! We got photos on the boat, on the deck, nature views and even a pretty field out front. The banquet hall with the wooden walls, lots of mirrors is also absolutely gorgeous with great lighting that doubled as a room for us girls to get ready in! Definitely will be coming back to Maxson’s for events in the future the dinner cruises make for a great anniversary dinner ?(all photos taken on sight)
We came because of Stronghold’s renaissance fair and stayed in town. Our hotel was right next door to Maxson’s. I will say the employees are delightful very friendly and you can tell they treat everyone as family. Mrs Nancy personally comes up to your table and chats like she has known you forever and makes you feel at home. You cannot beat their view I feel like no season would be bad. My daughter ordered the kids chicken tenders and said they were great my son ate 1/2 the hamburger off the kids menu and was full (really wanting to race to dessert) their fries were definitely on point! I unfortunately had their chicken bruschetta I didn’t eat 1/2, my chicken itself was a little burnt and the tomatoes had a funky taste. I also had the unfortunate pleasure of seeing two other diners send food back and that their food was over cooked. I heard a waitress apologize and say that their main chef was at Stronghold working a booth, so maybe that could be the reason for my plate. I don’t think it would be first choice to come back but then again with their main chef back in the kitchen you never know.
