El Greco - Oostende

In early March, my partner and I had dinner at this restaurant on two occasions. The setting was beautiful, the staff was welcoming, and we were seated at a cozy table of our choice. A pianist provided lovely background music, and we requested that they play the theme from 'Zorba the Greek', which they did so perfectly. On the first evening, the aperitifs, lamb brochette, and fried calamari were delicious, and the wine and Irish coffee were served well. On the second evening, the atmosphere was the same, but unfortunately, the mixed grilled meat we ordered was disappointing - some pieces were tough and overcooked. However, the Greek pastry dessert was excellent. When we mentioned the issue with the meat to the waitress, she didn't respond, but the owner came over and apologized, offering us a complimentary quality digestive to make up for it. This experience showed us that opinions can vary greatly from one evening to the next.

The restaurant offers excellent food and is always a great choice for celebrating a birthday or simply enjoying a delicious meal on the weekend. The ambiance is enhanced by a pianist who performs Greek and Italian music, making it a lovely dining experience.

Welcome and very friendly service. Discreet musical entertainment and circumstance. Quality of products at the rendezvous. A little bit expensive, but great time!
