Bidrage med feedbackEver since The Local Goat opened, it has become our favorite overnight stop on our I-75 North/South journey. At first, we only stopped because it was conveniently located next to our hotel, but now we return for the delicious food. Today, I want to praise our waitress, Skylar. She provided excellent service and enhanced our dining experience at The Local Goat. Skylar engaged us in friendly conversation with a personal touch, making our visit memorable. We will definitely be asking for her on our next stop!
We went to the restaurant for dessert and ordered onion rings, cheeseburger, and drinks. The onion rings were cut a bit thick for my taste but had good flavor, and the homemade ranch dressing was delicious. My husband was impressed with his burger, which came with a homemade bun. We both tried the chocolate lava cake since the peanut butter pie was not available at this location. The cake was dense and dark chocolate, with not much lava oozing out. It came with a small amount of ice cream, which was not enough to balance out the bitterness of the chocolate. The dish also had one small slice of strawberry (not like the picture displayed) and whipped cream on the side.
The food at this restaurant is absolutely amazing! We made a stop during our 3-day road trip to Florida and it turned out to be the best place we visited the entire trip. The service was fantastic, the staff was very friendly. Our server, Dawn P, introduced herself and thanks to her, we will definitely be returning.
I always wanted to visit this place when i was visit family in Chattanooga. So glad i stop by. It was Sunday after church so it had a little crowd but we was seated pretty fast. The menu is amazing so much to choose from. I got the lamb burger with fries. I love the burger it was amazing. The fries weren't for me. My husband like them they are like 5 guys fries very great for me. Back to the burger, whoever they get the meat from its great pick. My husband got the bison meatloaf . It was good he really enjoyed it was not dry or anything very juicy mush potatoes was good. Now, for the best part . I got the white chocolate bread pudding with ice cream . They added caramel around it, which made it even better. So if you come here with a group of friends and just want something little to eat, get that. Everyone was so nice that worked there i saw them helping each other out. We will be back time i hope.
We showed up on a Friday evening to a packed restaurant, but we were seated as soon as we arrived which was nice. The place is filled with artwork and my wife was interested in a few large pieces near our table. I wonder if they sell the art or just display it?Our waitress was friendly and was on top of things, but she didn’t seem to know much about the specialty drinks offered there, so my wife just ordered the blackberry mountain tea which she said was great. The rest of us opted for a coke.We ordered the spinach dip as an appetizer and we received warm, stale tortilla chips with something that I can only describe as lukewarm glue. The texture was terrible and the flavor wasn’t much better. My daughter and I tried to eat it, but we had to give up. It wasn’t good at all. My wife tried the tiniest bite and then refused to touch it.I ordered the pork chop with sweet potato mash for an entree. The chop was just okay. I would probably order it again. The mash was weird in both texture and flavor, though. It was edible, but I have definitely had better sweet potatoes. My daughter had a burger with an egg and bacon on it and she said that it was good. She ate the whole thing, so it had to be decent. My toddler also ordered a burger, but he wasn’t a fan. I think that the crinkly bun confused him at first and that the meat was a bit dry because he kept taking drinks and ultimately left it on his plate. He liked the fries, though. My wife ordered the bison meatloaf and was less than impressed with it. She said that the gravy tasted like it was from a frozen banquet meal. She also said that the meatloaf was extremely hot, like weirdly so, as if it had been microwaved before being put on the plate. The mashed potatoes were okay but were only hot where the meatloaf had been placed. She mentioned that it didn’t taste like bison at all and that there was little to no seasoning in the meat mixture or in the potatoes.Ultimately the waitress got the manager, who I am told was perfectly nice. Our toddler needed a potty break, so I wasn’t at the table when he arrived, but my wife said that she felt like even though he was nice, he either didn’t believe her when she told him about her meal or he just wasn’t interested in listening to what she had to say. She told me that when she described how the meatloaf tasted to him, he seemed to stiffen a little and explained that all of the food was made in house. He took the meatloaf off of the bill, but I don’t think that he was too happy about it. It was nice of him to remove it, though. Before we left, we picked up a bottle of amazing lavender lotion in the lobby, as well as a little furry goat friend for our son.Ultimately, we would give the place another try in the distant future, but we would definitely order different things next time.
