B & G Tasty Foods - Omaha

Got a Loose Meat Sandwich This Time. I headed to B&G and got a BG sandwich, fries, and a shake. The sandwich was an experience. It tasted very good, but spilled all over the darn place. Next time I will get cheese on it. The fries were OK, and the shake was excellent. My check was $8.81. I would gladly go back.

Boo hiss..... I can't review the food because I NEVER GOT ANY! I went in for lunch today it wasn't THAT busy. I sat at a bar stool and was told I would have to go order at the counter. Ok. Went to the counter. 15 minutes later I still hadn't ordered. There were employees just wandering around like there was something in the water they drank earlier dazed and confused. The food looked good diner y, and reasonably priced. but none of that matters if you don't GET any food.

Good Food. As one writer said This restaurant specializes in loose meat sandwiches, and not traditional burgers. and that is their specialty, they are different but in my opinion VERY Good! They have GREAT Frenchies Onion Rings too... Not fond of the Chicken Strips though! I would recommend this place to at least try once, get a BeeGee with Everything! (If you like what they put on it)...

Well It is Still the Only Place for a Tastee. The origin of the Tastee Sandwich is generally credited to the Sioux City, IA area. It 's a steamed ground beef sandwich that differs from a sloppy joe or a Maid-Rite, because it has no discernible tomato based flavor. B&G started out in, what was then West Omaha as a drive in out near 76th and W. Dodge Rd. Gayle Gainsforth ran it forever, the people that own it now worked there in their teens. They have remained true to the Loose Meat Sandwich. I was critical of the operation at first because it got to be a 10 dollar deal to have what I used to get for 5. Saturday about noon and the frying oil should have been changed about 3 days ago. Waffle fries were almost rancid tasting. The hotdog bun was dry and stale at both ends.5 people behind the counter and I was told they would tell me when order was ready. My order sat on the counter about ten minutes before someone finally decided to find out who's order it was. Results were lukewarm chilidog. Not going back anytime soon.
