Bidrage med feedbackI recently dined at Cafe CanCun with my wife. The food was excellent, the service was great, and the ambiance was delightful. I highly recommend it!
The joint is closed! Too bad nice folks owned it. The menu was pricey and the main courses seem to be limited to regional dish's from one area of Mexico. Probably could have had a few more spicy jalapeno type dishes from other regions of Mexico.
My son works in Okotoks and has visited this place a couple of times and just raves about it, calling it the next best thing to be in Mexico. So, on a nice June weekday, we picked him up at work and drove to cafe Cancun for lunch.Since it was a working day for him and we were driving in from Calgary, we had soft drinks and coffees to start. Our mistake was ordering the Saratoga chips as an appetizer. Not because it was not good (it was delicious,) but because there was so much and our main courses were so large. I had a bean soup special, nice and creamy and a bit spicy. We ordered the Mexican hotdog, the chicken empanada and the shrimp tacos. All were outstanding and way too much to eat.Total before tip was $75, a bit high, but not at all out of line for the flavour, the quality and the portions. If in the neighbourhood, you must try this place. BTW, service was outstanding and very friendly.
My husband and I went for a lunch date recently. We went based on the reviews of others, all of which were really positive. We were amazed by the food, service and decor. Amazing place! Will definitely go back. Service was fast and so friendly!
My husband and I had a nice lunch together at Café Cancun, and the food came out very fast! Within 5 minutes of ordering we had our drinks and salads, and 5 minutes later our entrees were out. The menu was limited and quite expensive, but we were told there is a new menu coming out within the next couple of weeks. All of the food was fresh and authentic, but definitely the prices were too high for what you get. My strawberry margarita was awesome, but it was also $12.50 for a 1.5 oz drink. It was just over $50 for two entrees and two drinks - definitely expensive for a lunch date but we will be back, just not often due to the cost. Two potential customers came in and sat down at a nearby table during our meal. Once they saw the prices, they decided to go somewhere else and they left. I sincerely hope this restaurant creates a menu that is more family friendly and budget friendly, as the food and atmosphere was great!
