Bistro Provence - Okotoks

I can't say enough good things about this picturesque and cozy restaurant. The husband and wife owners are also the server/host/kiss. They will not blow you out of the restaurant; it is eating as it should be. There's background music, but it's on a level that you can still have a conversation. Every dish we tried was tasteful, tasty and order.

I have always enjoyed the food and warm ambiance at Bistro 1882 in Okotoks, AB, where my daughter lives. Ed Povhe and his wife consistently impress with their homemade, delightful menus. During my latest visit for lunch, we had both meat eaters and vegans in our group. While catering to omnivores is common, my daughter and I were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful vegan options provided. This can be challenging in a community known for its meat production, but Ed went above and beyond with offerings like homemade squash and pumpkin soup with coconut milk, sourdough bread with vegan butter, and freshly made bruschetta. We also enjoyed the delectable Bistro 1882 Buddha Bowl, a well-curated wine list, and fresh fruit sorbets. Our friends raved about the Quiche Lorraine, yummy sandwiches, hearty burgers, and delicious desserts on the regular menu. What stood out the most was Ed and his wife's dedication to making every diner's experience memorable, regardless of their food preferences. The Bistro prioritizes the diner over the chef's ego, creating a truly special dining atmosphere.

I love the quiet atmosphere, no tv's and very quiet background music. The personal service is not something you get very often. I just love this restaurant. I know that everything they use is fresh and made in house. I go here for my birthday...every year. They remember my favourite drinks, soup, and dessert.

A small menu of high quality food. We have some romantic dinners here and took my mother-in-law when she came to visit. Every time we go, the service is impeccable and the food is amazing! Make sure that reservations as there are...just a few tables, but if you book in the last minute, give them a call, they can get a cancellation so that you get lucky. This is by far the best food in Okotoks.
