Bidrage med feedbackAs we embarking on a journey at the botanical gardens in okinawa it was quite fascinating to see: 1. extreme cleanliness of the place 2. a variety of vegetatians that are on the display across the whole park 3. the amazing variety of the animals 4. the birds show was a highlight for the kids it is definitely a recommended place to visit and experience first hand on how to manage the animals and hand feed them but beware that since it an open space it is extremely hot during the day food and drinks are also available but the prices as usual are typically higher than it would be in the local shop
When I was a child my mom used to take me to the botanical garden of my city and teach me a lot of things about plants. Entrance free, simple place, pure nature. Today I visited this place in Okinawa, I felt I went to a sad Disneyland. Poor animals trained to entertain people, a scary amount of plastic souvenir for sale, every little activity is charged (but you can still use the restrooms for free). Plants are just a background covered with electrical wires for cheesy lights. Strong, annoying music in the air. Just another sad place on this island where nature is only a tool to make some money.
2 parts garden, a smaller one and a bigger one. Pretty entertaining if you are not familar with tropical vegetation. A beautiful lotus garden with a few ducks. Calm and restful. Cute squirrel monkeys, capybaras, rabbits and a few other animals like giant turtles and goats. There are a couple of places to eat inside the park. You can also fish if you are up for it. Probably better to come early morning or late afternoon during summer season as it can get really hot.
Capybaras were cute and friendly. Beautiful place to bring kids BRING LOTS OF YEN in coins only. No atms to get more. No paying for experiences in card. Must bring lots of yen to do everything as each area requires ¥¥¥ in coin form. Even after paying to get in. It adds up quickly.
Great garden to explore and interact with a number of different animals. Not a huge variety of flora, but the fauna is impressive. Worth lining up early and paying to feed the squirrel monkeys. We bought a membership and consider it worth it. Excited to return for the nighttime displays.
