Bidrage med feedbackThis was not a good experience at all. The food was overcooked, the service was very poor, and the waitress seemed to be sighing a lot. She had very little knowledge about the menu items and beverages. The Valentine's Day menu was way too expensive. Our bill was incorrect and I do not plan on returning to this restaurant.
We highly recommend On The Bay (OTB)! Our Airbnb host, a true food enthusiast, recommended this restaurant to us. After checking out the reviews on TripAdvisor, we were impressed and decided to give it a try. OTB exceeded our expectations! It offers some of the best Bajan cuisine on the island. The squash and vegetable soup was well-seasoned and delicious, and the fish cakes were light and fluffy with real fish. For our main courses, we enjoyed the blackened Mahi Mahi with herb roasted potatoes and the grilled Mahi Mahi cutter, both of which were delicious. We loved the food so much that we returned for lunch a few days later and had the same dishes. The restaurant is located in Yellow Bird Hotel, next to Cafe Sol, and features a beautiful decor with a feature wall and accent lighting. There is also a lounge area with comfortable cushions overlooking the lighted pool. OTB was definitely a highlight of our trip, offering delicious Bajan food in a stunning ambiance at a great price.
My wife and I decided to give On The Bay a try since it is one of the newer restaurants in the area and we were very impressed. We were seated at a table next to the pool with a beautiful view of the bay, it felt like something out of a movie with white sand and small fishing boats scattered in the water. The staff were all very friendly, especially the bartender Akeem who took the time to chat with us and make us feel welcome. We both ordered rum punches, which were perfectly balanced and still packed a punch of rum. They arrived just in time for the sunset over the bay. The food was delicious, especially the macaroni pie, cucumber pickle, plantain, flying fish, and the bread pudding was exceptional with the rum sauce adding a sublime touch. The music played wasn't typical Bajan or tropical, which was a bit surprising given the theme of the restaurant, but it was still enjoyable. There were sports playing on the TV, which may appeal to some, but it would have been nice to see something more local or Caribbean to fit the theme better. Despite this, the prices were reasonable given the location and stylish decor. Overall, we had a great experience at On The Bay and will definitely be returning.
I was hoping nothing was an option under What would you recommend this restaurant for? The holiday price fixe menu was overpriced, the hostess was disorganized, the staff was rude, and the ambiance was disappointing. There was nothing picturesque about the bay after sunset. It was a dark body of water, with no lighting, and what the pictures don 't show you is that the direct restaurant entrance is off a side street, such that none of the locals I met, nor my taxi driver, had even heard of the place. Then again, maybe that 's the point they don 't cater to anyone but the hotel guests. So if you 're staying at the Yellow Bird, go for it. Otherwise, just go somewhere else.
