Bim - Ocean Lakes

A decent place to eat. Luigi with our server and he did a great job. the price was good. I thought the food was just a little greasy, but my wife had the seafood kabobs and they were outstanding. 09/07/24 Update -we decided to try Bimini's one more time. Food was still decent, but a plate of a single piece of fish and some bay scallops plus french fries and coleslaw cost over $24. This is creeping suspiciously close to the buffet pricing for around $30 to $35 so in the future, we'll have to ask if there is that much difference in the food at Bimini's to justify the price. Service was still good.

Great atmosphere and food. May not be as good for bigger groups due to how the tables are set up, but they do have inside and outside seating. My wife and I have the devils crab and grouper nuggets, both of which were delicious.

Avoid this place if you are sensitive to excessive noise. The music blasting plus a million people talking made the environment extremely unpleasant. I couldn’t talk to the person next to me without yelling. Food was very good :

Some of the best seafood I've ever had! Crabs were amazing and shrimp was juicey! Even though it was busy we still got seated right away, highly recommend them!

I had surveyed some work colleagues about places in Myrtle Beach and Bimini’s Oyster Bar and Seafood Cafe made the list. It’s definite a casual, relaxing place with inexpensive drinks and reasonable food prices. Dad had Lemonade, Hubby had the Bimini Mule, and I had the Mango Lemonade. The raw oysters were from North Carolina. We started with one dozen, loved it so much we ordered another dozen. Hubby and Dad shared the Clam Chowder. We had the tasty Coconut Shrimp. It has great flavor and dipping sauce but the size was on the smaller side. Hubby had the Combo 2x with fried oysters and fried grouper and shared it with Dad too. I had the Crab Cake Sandwich and was slightly disappointed. I guess Eddie V’s set the bar high for me. The salad was good. Overall, I would say the oysters were the highlight along with the combo and the drinks. Service was pretty good too.
