The feve is the most popular place in oberlin, so vegans have to go a lot with friends here. it's getting boring pretty fast. if they are in the mood for fried eating, it is good, but it is hard to get a meal with a considerable amount of sweet. they will replace meat with tofu on many items, but almost everything on the menu is covered in cheese and speck. the popular weekend brunch menu has never vegan options except a side of heel flakes, so I never got feve brunch with friends:
I ate here much as vegetarian because they had a lot of options for me. as a vegan I am a little disappointed with the lack of diversity.
The server was very informed about the vegan menu options. the vegan burger was delicious. the fried pickles and mushrooms are both vegan and amazing!
The real excitement is upstairs, where there's live music and a bigger scene, but the food is the same throughout. I tried the vegan burger, and it was not very good. It was very bland, and the french fries were as well. I wouldn't return, although I did not try their tofu meat replacements. If you're going to The Feve for the food, skip it!
