Hotel und Restaurant Schmachtendorf

The only criticism is that there was so much choice on the menu! We arrived from England that day and couldn't work out how to translate the menu, but the waitress could not have been more helpful and friendly. We chose the oxcheeks and they were beautifully cooked with a delicious sauce. The side dishes of beans, spinach and mushrooms were equally delightful. Very generous portions, but it was all so fabulous we polished everything off. We liked it so much we ate there the following evening, having found a translation app, and chose from the seasonal asparagus menu. It didn't disappoint. It was the best asparagus I had ever tasted. We had the same waitress, again very friendly and welcoming.

We were greeted and our waiter was extremely competent, friendly and amusing. The food was delicious and we were not there for the first time and certainly not for the last time...
