Oaxacalifornia - OAXACA DE JUÁREZ

My friends and I loved our visit to Oaxacalifornia. The atmosphere was nice, the food was delicious, and the service was professional and excellent. The only strange thing is that the restaurant is located in a kind of strip mall from a highway. Don't let that happen when you're in the restaurant, forget where it is located and lose yourself in the beautiful surroundings.

My friend brought me to the restaurant. Before entering the restaurant, honestly I have no good picture of the name Oaxacalifornia (sounds like joke... but the atmosphere and quality of the food is very good!!!

NIce, trendy restaurant in the southern part of the city, near Sams Club! Ate twice and had a really good steak there, but not like a U.S. steakhouse.

This is Casa Oaxaca in a more casual, modren setting with an emphasis on seafood. Lots of choices our favorite was the shrimp tempura and the octopus. The ice cream dessert was yummy.

We went to this restaurant after we added a local magazine. Our rental house was southeast of the zocolo, so we decided to go the 25 minutes or so to get to the restaurant. It is located in the commercial area of the city that was very strange for us. (Car dealer, fast food etc.). Boy, we were surprised. The restaurant is beautiful and it was definitely some of the best Oaxacan food we had in the city after many weeks. The food had a beautiful presentation, was fresh and had the perfect combination of flavors. The waiting staff was attentive and friendly. My husband and I both ordered a dish and then we ordered a third to share because we were so excited about the quality of food. While we are definitely food, we usually don't eat large quantities. We will return to Oaxaca this summer and definitely return to this restaurant.
