Bidrage med feedbackAfter our order we waited well 15 minutes to get our guacamole before our drinks. that was the only food we received. after another 20 minutes, where the waited ran/stomped around the empty restaurant, my man was essentially a little jerky. presented on a burned tortilla with barely boiled or burned vegetables. when my meal came, the waiter asked if we needed something else and we said, only his dinner, based on my son. he smiled and went away. I cut into my supposed short nativity to find only gristle and blood. the waiter still didn't understand that we were three men who had ordered three escapes, thank God for not wanting to be a second longer. we left without eating a bite from my dinner. see picture. Do not eat here.
This place has so much potential. very artistically decorated- looks like a cool ambiente. our waiter could not have been able to take care of us, and we were the only table there for most time. I ordered a hamburger that was so well done that it had no taste. the tweeper rings that came with him were refrigerator cold. standing staff, mediocre eating. so many other options in oaxaca- do not go here! I have never written a bad review on trip advisor, but feel strong that no one should waste their money here!
Our first visit was unremarkable, the second time wonderful (as noted in my earlier review), and this time was the last time. I don't like to give bad reviews (better to not review), especially for an establishment in my home town (Oaxaca is small, very small), but I owe it to prospective diners, especially since my last review received helpful votes. We were invited out and recommended Patio Luvina. How embarrassing. While service was congenial, the rest was horrible. Not a bottle of white wine in the place, notwithstanding that half of the restaurant specializes in fish and seafood. In fairness, the owner said the night before was very busy and they ran out. But still, why not go out to a supermarket the next day and buy some white wine? And no coffee! Often Oaxacan restaurants do not have decaf, but no coffee of any kind? Come on. I didn't ask our guests how their fare was, so will comment only on my wife's and my meals. My shrimp ceviche was passable. My steak was done properly but arrived somewhat warm as opposed to hot off the grill. My wife described her tuna as a square of frozen overcooked fish. In fact when it arrived we both thought it was my steak. We like the concept, but if they don't get their act together, and soon, Patio Luvina will be no more.
