5/4 is our go-to spot for everything from sausage and pate to roasted duck breast. The service is top-notch, the food is exquisite (and mostly homemade), and the prices are reasonable for the quality. Don't miss out on their sandwiches either. Whether it's the ham and butter baguette or the freshly fried chicken, the portions are generous and well-priced.

Today's ham sandwich was a disappointment. It tasted like generic cold cuts from Costco. I'm not sure what went wrong.

The fried chicken sandwich had well-roasted chicken that was tender and flavorful on the inside, with fresh and soft bread. However, the sandwich lacked flavor due to the lack of sauce or aioli to bring all the components together. It ended up tasting like fried chicken between slices of bread. On the other hand, the banh mi sandwich had the opposite issue - there was too much mayonnaise. While I appreciate the traditional use of pate in a banh mi, this sandwich had an overwhelming amount of mayo which made it taste more like a mayo sandwich with a hint of pate. Overall, I had high expectations for this place and although I believe their deli cuts are excellent, the sandwiches require some improvement.

Love Scott’s shop and always has top choice cuts of a rotating variety and seasonal prepared foods for mid week nights. Also great to pick up special condiments and artisan grains, oils and accoutrements. Highly recommend adding Fifth Quarter to your rotation for culinary delights.
