La Estrellita Cafe - Oakland

I ordered through Eat24 and they attempted to confirm my order by calling, but I did not answer. I have been trying to call back for 45 minutes, but the line is always busy. If you are not interested in taking orders, it would be better to close down. This has been the worst customer service I have ever encountered. If calls were forwarded to a voicemail or automated system, it would at least show that they are busy.

The best time to visit this restaurant is during happy hour. The portions are generous for the price, such as getting 6 taquitos for only $6! The staff is friendly and accommodating. I mentioned my love for hominy in the posole soup, and the waitress informed me that I could request extra hominy next time. The service is quick and efficient, with staff readily available to assist you. While I have tried other dishes, I always find myself returning to the delicious posole soup.

I didn't love the bread, but the eggs and bacon were good. The horchata was also good. The waitress was incredibly friendly and provided great customer service. The food came out quickly. They have a happy hour and offer delivery through Grubhub, although I couldn't find them on the app.

Came here with a group on a Thursday at 6pm, which we normally meet every Thursday around the same area. We walked and drove by this place numerous times but never tried. The place was empty. No one was there. Although I am a huge fan of local restaurants, I wanted to like this place, as I love Mexican food. We sat down immediately; there was no one in the restaurant. But we waited for the menus. After five minutes, I had to track down the lady. She came over and handed us the menu. Suddenly, another couples came in, and all attention went to them. : Thinking what the heck! We then waited another ten minutes to order. After forty five minutes of waiting and ordering, we got our food. My Goodness! Crazy thing was, that couple that came after us got their food before we did. Holy Moly. For one the food, the salsa was pretty bad. It was water down salsa. There was no texture to it such as tomatoes, onions, etc. The chicken burrito I ordered was bad too. The chicken was overcooked. The chicken was flavorless. The nachos was large amount but not good quality. The toppings such as cheese, salsa, etc. were smashed top of the chips. Rating Food: 1 Service: 3 Ambience: 3 Price: 1 Overall: 2 Sorry, mayn! Not coming back here again.
