Gyu-kaku Japanese Bbq - Oakland

Came here for lunch and had a great time. Our server Marcus regularly came by to check up on us. The food came quickly and the meat is definitely high quality compared to Korea. BBQ. Great place to get a quality meal in downtown Oakland!

It was my first experience at a Japanese BBQ spot and it was fun. The menu is large and the value is amazing because it's all you can eat in a 90 minute time-frame. I went with my best friend and we had a great time. Our server was so sweet and gave us recommendations on the different meats options and how they differ.

There was a lot of food, but the quality was fair. meat was hard and very uneven portions.

It is not a restaurant as much as it is a gimmicky activity business. had the meat lover cure for 2. meat did not live until the hype or the price day, very weak marinade and watered sauces. the personal is too thin and they can not give enough attention to anyone. you just cook your own overpriced food. bad for couples looking for a nice dinner together. great for families with children. they can give a child a “job” that observes the meat cook, and that will give the parent some moments of peace and some food.

Not the high quality experience I expected. small dinge are important, the wrong suppe was weak, the reis was not correct Japanese rice, etc. the attention to quality was simply not there.
