Cooper's Hawk Winery — Oak Park

I must say I had an OUTSTANDING experience. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.. Today was my first time here and the experience I received was over beyond from top to bottom. Japan, Rick, W, Hannah (Montana inside joke), to Kirsten. Was absolutely amazing. Job well done. I wish I could take you guys to other restaurants so you guys can show them how service is supposed to be. even tho they food is not something I will normally eat, Hats off to the chefs. This is our go-to for special occasions. We get ridiculous amounts of appetizers and wine. Never been disappointed by our meals. Staff have always been attentive and friendly.

Its changed a lot since it opened and not for the best either.

What a horrible dining experience four of us had December 17th. Due to confusion about our reservation — apparently Cooper's Hawk had no record of it — we were sent to the empty back dining area. Eventually all the other tables were filled with patrons, all of whom were served their dinners before us. In fact, one hour into our order, we were informed that the kitchen had run out of that dinner. We were ignored and dismissed by our waiter and the staff. The appetizers were good but I was very disappointed in my entree. I ordered grilled steak and while the steak was great the fries that came with it were cold and stale and the veggies were over cooked. My friend said the same thing about her entree. Her steak medallions were good but veggies over cooked and mashed potatoes cold as ice. If you’re going to charge $50 for an entree everything should be perfect! I used to love this place but I won’t be returning.
