Strandhaus - Nürnberg

The restaurant was absolutely covered in flies and spiders' webs and I had to pick two flies out of my drink. The pizza was soggy in the middle and insanely salty and the service was really unfriendly and made me feel very uncomfortable. No one was allowed to sit outside apart from some friends of the staff who felt they were above "the guests". Will not be going there again.

After spending the day wandering around the old Nazi sites, this place proved itself an invaluable resting stop. The view from the terrace over the lake is magnificent. Service was prompt and friendly.Near the entrance is a very peculiar war memorial, well worth a look.

Beautiful location, simple but great. A perfect place to spend some afternoon hours. The service is quite slow and not the most friendly one...

Ideal for exhibition visitors. very good steaks and fish. This Restaurant serves excellent food at reasonable prices.

The place looks nice when you come in - interesting decoration, maybe a bit exaggerated, with a spacious bar and a few tables inside. I was there on a weekday, afternoon, very few guests and more waiters available than tables in use.When I walked in, one guy behind the bar greeted me, not very friendly.I said hello and walked through to the large open terrace where I wanted to enjoy my Latte at the lakeside, in the sunshine. To my surprise, there was a kind of frontier between two parts outside - the sunny lakefront places with wooden tables and seats, a signpost saying in German "from here only meals" - and the other part with more casual seats and sofas, in distance from the lake and mostly in the shadow. Wow!I have not yet seen such a case of local optimization for profit and against the wishes of guests in a restaurant in Germany.I had my latte, but this will be my last Strandhaus experience for the next couple of years again. (after some previous cases with slow waiters, food, no bread available for a group of ten on a sunday noon etc. etc.)Its a pity, it could be a nice place.
