Bidrage med feedbackCame by chance here and were really happy not to have a table somewhere else, as the food and the service were great. we were warmly welcomed and the service did everything to feel comfortable. the food was very good (have a sour roast and ferkelschaufle) and we got small dishes for the children they also enjoyed. prices were fair, so overall a great experience and we recommend in any case and come back! thanks to the red ross team that we feel welcome!

We enjoyed red rust throughout good meal and service. if you want to try a typical Franconian dish, order the buzzing red wine shoulder or, more precisely, a shoulder leaf. the smoked meat is slowly roasted until it almost falls out of the bone and comes with a beautiful crispy crack, kartoffel lap (pumps) and a dark beer sauce. we have never been disappointed by the teller in red rust. is also good the pork or calf carving, served with spaetzle, and the salat starter for the meal was surprisingly fresh and crispy with a light vinaiigrette. especially we enjoy this restaurant in summer when you can sit outside.
First visited Rotes Ross in mid-2012. Good meal and service at that time. Recent experience though found both areas sadly lacking. Reserved a specific table and when we arrived 10 minutes prior to our booking found that the table had been taken. We were given a small table in a side room directly beside an exterior door with a considerable & cold draught. Initial drinks were slow to arrive, as was our entree. Ten minutes into our meal a chile at the next table vomited over the table. OK, this is not the restaurant's problem but they were very slow to clean it up and the strong smell lingered for the rest of our stay. Deciding to shorten our meal we asked 3 times for the bil but it never arrived. I had to go to the cashier and pay. Tried talking about our issues to the manager but found him totally arrogant & impossible to deal with. He said (translated from German) "There are some guests who do not exist..." All in all I found our service & treatment at the Rotes Ross Altdorf to be totally unacceptable. Aviod this restaurant at all costs!!
