Westbourne Grill House

We have been meaning to dine here for sometime based on recommendations. I'm so pleased we've finally been. We ordered the cote de boeuf and it was cooked perfectly to our taste (rare), the sides were plentiful and the sauces delicious. Thank you for a fabmntastic evening Westbourne Grill House. So we've been meaning to visit here for a while now, after seeing all the good reviews. We can say it lived up to and exceeded all the good reviews. We opted for the cote de boef It was full and flavour and cooked to perfection, we went for rare. Its safe to say it's the best steak we've had in a long time. The service was attentive and friendly. We came here for our wedding anniversary, food was absolutely beautiful, but a real shame that the experience was majorly dampened by staff who looked as if they didn't want to be there, not a single smiley face anywhere to be seen, this makes you feel majorly uncomfortable and rushed. You are unable to switch normal fries for sweet potato fries, or make any swaps at all on your meals..so if you want sweet potato fries, you have to have normal fries AND a side of sweet potato fries, for the price you are paying you'd expect to be able to make a swap on your meal and not have to pay for extra. Unfortunately for us due to the unfriendly staff on a special occasion for us, we would not be returning nor recommending to any friends or family, which is a real shame as food was beautiful but staff also have a big part to play when you eat out. Jumbo prawns in tempura batter? Frozen cheap compacted and shaped prawns in bread crumbs available at Liddle, very poor. Veg with main course supermarket frozen broccoli fleurettes and carrots, not acceptable. The lamb was lovely, the chicken a bit dry. Huge deterioration since last visit. It used to be packed, last night it was a third full. Two star at best and now poor value. Parking: 2 car parks within 2 mins and plenty of on street.
