Aspers Northampton

The food here is very good. A mixed menu of steaks burgers and main dishes with a good selection of starters. The staff was helpful and comprehensible. Saturdays can be loud with music, but we like it.

What has previously been a lovely experience has gone downhill considerably over the past 6 months. Last night we went for my birthday with 6 friends. Service was slow, kept having to ask for drinks. We were told at the start of ordering there was only one fillet steak left which wasn't an issue. Then after placing our order they came back asking one guest to change their choice due to running out of chicken. Fair enough we thought. Starters came out and one starter had been changed as they had no scollops. Towards finishing our starters the waitress comes over to tell us they've run out of rice....... Rice is a basic storage item in a kitchen fgs! Not great when three guests had ordered curry! Choices changed again and mains received......fillet steak was cremated, chips/fries came 10mins after meal, mustard mash was definitely smash not real potatoes and wasn't edible. 6 out of 8 people had steak and no steak knifes..... All in all very disappointing and doubt we'll return anytime soon.

Visited for the second week running for Sunday roast. The food is delicious and the service is good. All at an excellent price. Will definitely go again.
