Whisk Ladle Kitchen

The food at this restaurant was extremely disappointing. We ordered three fish and chips, which were overpriced at £17.50 each. The chips were hard, the fish was small and greasy, and the mushy peas were made from garden peas that were mashed to a hard, inedible consistency. The two dirty burgers we ordered, one with a rasher of bacon for £19.00, were full of gristle and my husband couldn't even eat his. The Tikka Masala was the only dish that was somewhat decent. We also paid £9 for two small bottles of water and a whopping £78 for two bottles of Chablis. When we asked for vinegar, we were given sachets of mayo and then a bowl of balsamic vinegar. The service and the quality of the food did not match the high prices. We definitely will not be returning to eat at the Hilton again.

If you're heading to East Midlands Airport, the Hilton hotel is a great meeting spot and the trendy Bar Kitchen restaurant, Whisk + Ladle, is a popular choice. And for good reason! We decided to try the classic Fish and Chips with mushy peas and were pleasantly surprised. The fish was perfectly cooked and the chips were delicious. This restaurant definitely deserves higher ratings than it currently has.
