Bidrage med feedbackWe visited this pub a the end of last year, it’s somewhere we drive past en route to The Royal Oak regularly. Our first visit was a bit disappointing as the food wasn’t particularly hot. This past weekend was even worse. My friend wanted the trio of meat roast dinner. She doesn’t like turkey so asked for a slice of something else and it was a straight no! Why it would be a problem I don’t know. When the plate came out with the roast potatoes and meat on there were two tiny potatoes the size of a walnut on the plate!! I thought it was a joke! We requested more potatoes and they did bring us some more. The cauliflower cheese was awful. I like el dente veg but the cauliflower was so hard and the cheese sauce was shocking. It was so thin and like milk. Just awful. There was about a teaspoon of cabbage between the two of us. Definitely not worth the money we paid and in future will be going to The Royal Oak for our Sunday dinners
This place is a favourite of my dad’s. It is consistently good the menu offers a good choice portions are good. Well worth a visit
We went to this pub for lunch and left feeling satisfied. It has a nice traditional village pub atmosphere. Our group of seven was able to sit together. Unfortunately, the menu didn't have many options for lunch, so it ended up being a bit pricey. However, the food was delicious and clearly homemade. The bill, including drinks, came to just under £150, which was about £25 per person. We had a round of drinks, five main meals, one lighter bite meal, one child's meal, three coffees, and two desserts. Despite the slight downsides, we will definitely return.
My experience at this restaurant was a bit disappointing. I had visited about 6 or 7 months ago and was excited to return for Sunday lunch. However, the place was very busy, indicating their usual quality. We were seated at a table near the glass return area, and some patrons at the bar had to move to make room for us. An old dusty picture beside us made it hard to see. I ordered the three meat roast and my partner ordered a vegetarian option on the lunch menu, but it turned out they were out of that dish and offered a frozen vegetarian wellington instead. The food took 50 minutes to arrive, which seemed like a long wait for a Sunday roast that most people were ordering. The presentation of the food was disappointing, but the meats were cooked nicely. We also received insufficient vegetables and the cauliflower cheese was frozen in the middle. Overall, the experience was disappointing. Maybe if we had been seated in a different area, the ambiance would have been better. We may give it another try in the future.
What a fantastic discovery! I was attending a netball event at Loughborough University and found this hotel just 10 minutes away, which was perfect. The staff were amazing from check-in to check-out, being both friendly and professional. I stayed for one night and had dinner and breakfast at the hotel. Our room, Room 3, was cozy and clean with comfortable beds and a charming en suite bathroom. For dinner, we enjoyed lamb shepherd's pie and lasagne, both of which were excellent and delicious. The breakfast the next morning was also top-notch. I had a wonderful stay and will definitely book again when I'm in Loughborough. The hospitality and accommodations were top-notch.
