Bidrage med feedbackSweet little Italian restaurant tucked inside an office building, with a lovely outlook into an internal courtyard garden. Service was friendly, even when they quite clearly wanted our (large, weeknight) group to hurry up & leave! The food was simple but delicious, and some nice...More
If you want to eat the finest Italian food on the lower North Shore, if not Sydney, then you must visit this restaurant. The food is best Italian you will eat, that is if you know your Italian. Owned and run by real Italians, the chefs, even the waiters are all Italian. You must visit this place if you want the finest Italian food.
I'm a semi regular here and usually rave about it but had a bad experience today. Not sure what was going on in the kitchen but meals to all tables appeared delayed. When ours finally arrived some were undercooked, others had obviously been sitting under the lamps for too long, all appeared rushed.Had this been my first visit I wouldn't be coming back but given that this was a first bad experience among many much better ones I' will give them another go.
WE recently had dinner at Bel Paese North Sydney. The décor is pleasant with good space between tables.Service was efficient & friendly.WE both had Pasta Starers.I had veal as a main & my Partner had Barramundi. The food was very good & we will come back again.
Friday nights in North Sydney aren't generally very busy, Saturday nights less so. Bel Paese is located on the ground level of an office building in a dull street devoid of other shops, attractions or interest. Closest point of reference is the Rag & Famish Hotel some 500m away. Nonetheless, this restaurant has been in business for around 30 years - incredible. Once you've sampled the food you are left in no doubt as to its longevity. The restaurant is a surprise in many ways. No doubt a popular lunchtime eatery for local business folk, at night the large restaurant lacks a bit of atmosphere due to (surprisingly) low patronage. However with floor to ceiling windows looking into some well placed greenery and very fine service, the restaurant is easy to recommend. Italian food, thoughtfully and carefully prepared with a good variety of choices. BYO wine is permitted, although corkage of $12 was a little on the high side. Our meals were delicious, particularly the veal in a creamy mushroom sauce - tender meat accentuated by an interesting and distinctively flavoured sauce. The steak was cooked to perfection and accompanying vegetables were also delicious. The homemade tiramisu was up with the best we've ever eaten. We'll be going back.
