Bidrage med feedbackI have eaten twice in this restaurant for several years. it's the best Greek food I found for the money. I'd eat a lot more here, but we're just twice a year on the beach. the owner who is cook makes everything from himself to 4pm. he has a hard time to find help like many restaurants. I live in virginia and ordered 3 Mediterranean meat combos to take home in the cooler. ok, it smells so good in the car, some of the foods did not make it cooler the eating is always great. I didn't say well, I said great! great tipp of the person who said it was better to get on the 37th avenue light and get them in the rear entrance. the approaching front is steep and I always pull the bumper out of the front. They do not hear much advertising about this restaurant. trip advisor is how I found it. I heard the hamburgers and gyros are great, but I like the combo plate.
This place is really a hidden gem. No, really, it's hidden. it lies behind the comfort inn in an old waffel house. the gyros are some of the best I ever had. the tzatziki is the best. make you please and stop them here and eat, even if they are not sure they like Greek cuisine.
We love Greek/Mediterranean food and we enjoyed our meal in the whole food Mediterranean grill very much. it is by no means unusual (in or outside,) but the food was delicious and the portions were generous. we were there on a Monday for an early dinner, so it wasn't crowded. there is access of poinsett st. in the back, they think of turning the light at the 7th st when occupied by north and rt. 17. call a day ahead when they put their heart on moussaka, as my wife did. otherwise they don't.
We wanted a change from the seafood we ate on a trip to north myrtle beach. as we love Mediterranean food, we gave this place to lunch on a day. we had both gyro sandwiches; I had the lunch special that comes with a little salad. the gyros were as good as anyone I've ever eaten. service was also very good. in any case recommend.
We stopped for a late lunch. No decor but big booths. They didn't have mousakka at lunch. BUT the gyro and Greek salad were outstanding in taste and size. Worth a stop.
