Bidrage med feedbackMy group of three came here for dinner. The service was a bit slow because only one person seemed to be taking orders despite multiple staff being on duty. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. All the staff were friendly, so I would definitely come back and recommend this restaurant.
It took us 30 minutes to place our order, and by the time our food arrived, three tables that came in after us had already finished eating and were waiting for their main courses. We finally received our food an hour after being seated, and the waitress was grumpy when we complained. The porcini mushroom sauce was overpowering, the battered haddock was slimy and greasy, and the strange combination of cauliflower cheese, ham, and peas in the same dish was unappetizing. This will be our last visit to this restaurant.
The food was of very low quality, the service and atmosphere were lacking, and the prices were extremely high for the quality of food. The only thing that arrived promptly was the bill.
As an ex-Chef of 12 yrs, I am sure that meals have not changed dradtically. The service was great, the meals were cooked correctly. Starters were Pate and Prawn Cocktail The pate was far too salty, the Prawn Cocktail had a few flat lettuce leaves, normally it should have a small hadful, with prawns around/in front of slightly over the lettuce. Prawn Cocktail is traditionally served with quarter slices of brown bread. Main Course were Steak Pie and Haddock We were not informed that NO vegetables would be served and not asked if we wanted them. mixed vegetables with steak pie and peas with the fish is standard fare. Garlic mayonnaise was served with the fish, I like garlic mayonnaise, but certainly not with fish. Dessert Cheesecake Brought in, so no problems. Covid People sitting at tables back to back, we're literally two to three feet apart. Three Staff walking around with face masks under their noses, total waste, they are breathing in Covid through their noses. An air conditioner was switched on, blowing cold air and with it, spreading Covid if it was present. For an Italian restaurant, there was no pasta on the set menu????
I really don’t like to say bad things about this restaurant but I feel in this instance I must.I have visited occasionally over time and been quite satisfied with both the service and the food but on our last visit I had to go to the toilet and because of COVID restrictions I had to wait till the toilet became vacant..When the door opened a member of the kitchen staff emerged an walked straight past the sanitising point and into the kitchen.I did my toilet and turned to wash my hands,was shocked to see a perfectly dry sink and no wet towels in bin.Evidently the person before me had walked out without washing up.I’m afraid I will not be returning to this restaurant until hygiene procedures are seriously looked at
