Mikazuki Sushi - North Lake

Sushi and katsu chicken were good. However, I did feel rushed to make a decision while i was still trying to decide. I didn't like that the chilli powder isn't Japanese chilli pepper powder ????

Teriyaki Chicken is pretty good, comes with a lot of rice.

We recently had a bad experience with katsu chicken don and chicken kaarage don at Sushi with Goons in Fremantle and were greatful that Mikazuki Sushi got it right for us today. The chicken was crunchy on the outside and tender in the middle, just as it should be. The rice was also cooked perfectly. We thoroughly enjoyed both the katsu and the kaarage. Thank you for the delicious lunch. We will be back again soon

I got through most of my sushi thinking it wasn't too bad. The rice was a bit gluggy unfortunately, and they didn't have any brown or black rice sushi options, which I have come to expect these days. I got to my second last piece of salmon sashimi and bit into a bone. This has never happened to me eating salmon sashimi before. Surely they should be deboning it more thoroughly.

At $10 a pop, this is by far one of the best Teriyaki Chicken Bento I've ever had the pleasure of eating. Pretty damn good by food court standards if I'd say so myself, and I'm a self proclaimed food court snob! The only downside was the complimentary California sushi. Fillings were fresh and plentiful however the sushi was not made with authentic Japanese sushi rice (my guess is overcooked Jasmine/ long grain rice due to its gluggy texture). All is forgiven as they were nice enough to grant my wish for having the teriyaki sauce on the side (nothing worse than chicken pieces swimming in gravy trying to find their way into your belly). Would definitely be back to try the other bento dishes in the near future!
