Murphys - North Hertfordshire

A firm chippy in hitchin, although sometimes the fish is a bit too salty. a lot more satisfying than those on the hermitage, as they receive more decent portions as well!

I've been going to murphy with my family for seven years. it is consistently excellent and they have the best chips of all time. they were voted for best chips in hertfordshire in 2014 and are always perfect (also cooked on their order extra crunchy etc.) and I have no idea why one of the reviews says differently. I've never seen her on a day off. the food and the staff are excellent. I've moved to another part of the country, but still to visit if I can. when they eat there (they have a small restaurant) they will be for a tasty bite. try the rice flour coating instead of scattering for a healthy and tasty change.

Best chips in Hitchin, with a few veggie/vegan options including spring rolls. Staff are nice and friendly. Good Covid safety measures.
