Savoury Japan - North End New Zealand

The ambience isnt for a romantic night out but the food is fresh, good and affordable. We come here at least once a fortnight for take out or lunch and have never been dissappointed.

I had the chicken mapo tofu with rice and found it to have a good level of flavour. Perhaps it wasn’t in the style of the fresh or homemade variety and there may have been some artificial flavour enhancement going on but it was still a satisfying meal. Being in Dunedin which is a student town, it was fairly priced.<br/ <br/ I found the interior to be very spacious and it had a clean, simple and welcoming aspect. No complaints about the staff service either.

Great for Takeaway, it 's a buzzing little place so it can be hard to get a seat for a sit down meal. If you do, they have (huge) tasty wanton soup which I can recommend. The best sushi in town and at $5 my first choice for lunch a quick lunch. The service is 'cafe-style ' don 't expect to be waited on hand and foot
