Very suspicious of this place since the Food Hygiene rating wasn’t displayed. The fish was ok. Chips were poor quality and cold. Served by abbot who looked 12 and asked 3 times if I wanted salt. He dropped a Fisk nuggets so there weren’t enough and had to give me a sausage. And he forgot half the order. Not recommended. Service: Take out Meal type: Dinner

I ordered the large fish and chips at this restaurant. Although it wasn't cheap, the quality was really good. I would definitely come back here again. The service for takeout was excellent. It was a great dinner option. The price per person is between £10-£20. I would give the food, service, and atmosphere all a rating of 5. I recommend trying the fish and chips.

I am sorry to leave a 1-star review, even though the fish was tasty and the service was good. Unfortunately, the chips were extremely unpleasant and overshadowed any positive aspects of the meal. I would rate the chips as -5 if possible. They seemed to be leftovers from the lunchtime shift, or perhaps even from the first lockdown. It is baffling how a business that primarily sells chips could get them so wrong. It is disappointing to see customers being served low-quality food when the profit margins would still be decent with freshly cooked chips. I understand that costs have risen for businesses, but it would be better to increase prices rather than serve subpar food. Fish and chips are a special treat for many families, and the disappointment on my children's faces after tasting the chips will stay with me. We only tried this place because our usual spot in Morthoe was closed for the year, but in the future, we will opt for supermarket oven chips if Morthoe is closed. I would not recommend this restaurant unless you enjoy eating terrible chips. In response to your feedback, I believe that improving the quality of your chips will have a larger impact on your business than my review. Looking at other recent reviews, I see that other customers had similar experiences with the chips. By addressing this issue instead of arguing with customers online, your reputation can be restored. Honest feedback is important, and it is a shame that good chips are hard to find these days. You are not the only establishment where we have had a disappointing experience with chips, and I hope that you can improve in the future.
