Petrella's Express - North Chili

Went here today because of the great feedback...IT IS CLOSED! : Too bad!! Wanted to try some good food but to no avail! When us North Chili going to recognize there is a college filled with hungry patrons just waiting for something worthwhile to spark their interest?

First let me point this out, 5 star rating on food and care of preparation. This is not a fancy sit down restaurant. What it is, is a hard working owner and preparer that is giving great quality and care in the food that he serves at an extremely reasonable price. I have ordered a variety of sandwiches from this hidden gem and have thoroughly impressed every time. You wouldn't know from the outside because Petrella's is located In a convenience store. Yep, that's right, but the first time I walked in I noticed that he was making home made pasta from scratch. Color me intrigued. Initial order was a buffalo chicken sub. Delicious. Fresh fried breast strips with a quality sauce and crumbly blu cheese served on a fabulous 8 sub roll...yeah, no cutting corners here. See all the photos I posted. From there I ordered turkey wrap. Beautiful. Turkey, bacon, avocado, LT, a peppadew aioli and havarti cheese. What?! Yep, it's the these additions and preparation that makes this place special. It continued, a whicked chicken sandwich, Cajun marinated topped with Swiss, crumbly bleu and finished with country sweet. A chipotle bacon turkey sandwich with a smokey bacon chipotle mayo and havarti. Fantastic. A delicious chicken parm sandwich. Chicken pounded flat and served with the house tomato sauce and mozzarella. Another winner. To top it all off, one of the best meatball subs in Rochester. I'm very particular when it comes to meatballs. Of course the meat balls are homemade as is the sauce and it is served on a top quality Italian roll. Just fantastic. There are still many other items that I need to taste...shaved steak with a beer butter garlic sauce, a grilled chicken pesto sandwich and a smoky A1 burger to name a few. So, order ahead, wait patiently (fresh takes time), leave your diet at home and enjoy. By the way, the pizza is delish too.

I love this place! The food is fresh and flavorful and not your average gas station food. Every time I get something different it always surprises me how good it is! Their pizza is great, I like their buffalo chicken personally! The avocado BLT is so good I add turkey it's fantastic with the special basil mayo.

It's hard to know where to start. The sandwiches and salads are bananas good. For sandwiches, try eggplant parm with all the veggies. The owner is always there and will specialize your order. He is a cook. I've ordered here over five times and use them for office orders. The regular old wings and pepperoni/cheese pizza is not where they shine. Go specialty here. Ask for input. If you go pizza, do the buffalo chicken and Blue cheese pizza. North chili cuisine just did a huge uptick with this new place.

What a great surprise! Had it for dinner last night for the first time and we tried a variety of things including the white pizza, avocado blt sandwich, fries, alfredo fettuccine and a quinoa salad. We couldn't believe that fresh, made from scratch, quality ingredients would come from a place that is located inside a convenient store/gas station. Everything was so good. We will be regulars and look forward to trying many other dishes. Don't overlook this place, it's a hidden gem!
