This restaurant impressed me by the best sauce I ever had. We are lucky enough to book seats successfully on Saturday evening only 20 mim in advance. Later, it became more more popular with quite a lot people. Would recommend all the starters ...dishes. But it's closed on Sunday, we could not go again.
Honestly speaking, definitely worth the try ! It is a few steps away from the main street, and those few meters are definitely a walk you wont regret ! the menu changes daily based on the fresh products the chef can find at the market....the husband in the kitchen, the wife is serving. a nice couple and delicious food ! visually and taste wise it was a real treat ! dont forget to check out their terrace on the first floor a direct view over a very old and charming building adding a romantic touch.
We visited Au Chapon Fin whilst staying in Nimes. The food was delicious, very tasty and authentic. Desserts also a stylish treat. Good value with three course fixed price at 31 euro. Wine reasonable and very drinkable. The hosts were really helpful with the menu,...with better English than our French.
We had the good fortune to dine at Au Chapon Fin in Nimes for dinner on a Wednesday evening. The menu changes daily and offers the freshest most unique products available in the marketplace. The restaurant has two distinct dining options, the indoor entry level...dining room is more formal and there is also a more relaxed upstairs outside terrace to choose from. The menu is presented on a chalkboard and the unique details of each dish were presented by the charming server. We had an opportunity to try a hot crumble of fresh figs and pelardon (goat cheese) as well as a carpaccio of shrimp with a wasabi ice cream. Entrees included a rib-eye of taureau with fries and a cheese sauce. We ended this memorable meal with two deserts: a chocolate salted caramel tartelette with a raspberry sorbet and fresh strawberries as well as a chestnut chocolate cake with candied chestnut ice cream. The meal was frankly mesmerizing. Can't wait to go back.
