Bidrage med feedbackThere are two ways to look at this place. If you've been to Paris, you'll find that this is a decent approximation of the street cafes there. We had the confit du canard, steak frites and foie gras in cranberry and shallots. All good the confit was particularly good; tender with the right amount of saltiness If you've never been to Paris, you'll be none the wiser and still think this is a good restaurant. Worth visiting and worth coming back too.
I absolutely love Bistro du Vin's chocolate tart with raspberry sorbet. I know I skipped to dessert but that was the best thing that happened to me at the little French cafe. That's saying a lot considering they served a delicious Parmesan soup that you will probably wipe clean if you had it, plus a delectable duck leg confit that was seasoned perfectly and cooked tenderly. My only problem was with the Le Steak Frite dish, which smothered a good portion of Angus rib-eye with an overwhelmingly peppery sauce. What a waste! Otherwise, Bistro du Vin is pretty good. While some of the dishes need a little work and the bathroom will fit only the teeniest tiniest of persons, I would forego any final judgment with seconds of that chocolate tart. They need to start selling it by the box! And, oh, you might not find it on the menu. Some items just come up on the blackboard for the day, but definitely keep an eye out for this dessert.
At first glance, I instantly thought of this restaurant as a place where you would bring your special someone for a romantic date. The ambiance, deep red interiors and down to the French-inspired decorations housed inside the restaurant definitely gave the vibe of romanticism. They have a wide selection of wine, hence the name of the restaurant, Bistro du Vin and a bounty selection of pure French cuisine from appetizer to dessert. Apart from the menu, you may also request for their specials for the day. Price point is tilted to the more expensive side, however, they serve in generous portions and you can tell that the ingredients used are of premium quality. For my meal, I ordered a salmon dish in muniere sauce in the hopes of having light dinner, but I was wrong since the serving was still big, but I still loved every bit of it nonetheless. Don't forget to order dessert after your meal and may I suggest you try the Le Souffle au Grand Marnier, it is delectable!
It's a little tricky to find a simple, delicious, bistro in the city. It got me super excited to hear that Bistro du Vin (beestro du vahn , was opening in Manila! If you haven't seen or heard of it, it's because it's a little hidden in the new Edades building in Rockwell. My family and I decided to eat here for our parents' anniversary and we left super full and happy. The restaurant feels like you've entered a small cafe in Paris, really well decorated with vintage signs and big mirrors by their booth tables. We started with onion soups (kinda sweet, perfect for the Filipino taste buds and parmesan soup (so good! . We loved their roasted chicken and roasted pork that followed after, it was nothing fancy but tasted delicious! Always leave space for dessert because they have this meringue tower with ice cream that I can't even begin to explain what it tasted like!! They also carry an impressive wine list so if that's your thing, a trip here should be in the works already! It's great for family celebrations or date nights!
