'india Gate' Tandoori Indian Nijmegen

It's a shame that I had to travel to Nijmegen NL to get authentic Indian but man was it worth it. On a business trip and eating in the hotel is boring. If you ever travel her this place is a must. Short walk from the central station. The garlic naan was amazing. That could have been my dinner. We ordered tiki masala, couple of curries with chicken and prawns. We also had an appetizer that is like a giant wanton but filled with a potato curry. They have 5 levels of spice and I got 3 but should have gone for 4. Amazingly authentic and scrumptious. I'd put those curry gravies on anything!!

Nijmegen has serious Indian food, and India Gate gets bonus points being from the UK. The vindaloo was spicy, so if you're not ready for the heat go a notch lower. Other dishes were good the butter chicken was fine. Naan and rice were both solid. It's not cheap I think it cost about EUR 25 per person for food, but worthwile. I'll be back. Be careful, if you don't act soon, the curry will serve itself.

If you like absurdly spicy Indian food, this is the place for you. I went here with a large group and we ordered a bit of everything. Most dishes were very good. There were some that were too hot to really be sure if they were tasty,but some people are into that. My dish, the butter chicken, was just a bit too sweet. So overall, it was an enjoyable meal, and I'd go back. I would order something with a heat scale somewhere between my too sweet butter chicken and the too hot lamb madras.

Wij hadden Thali voor twee personen besteld. Een leuke indiase variant op de rijsttafel. De smaken waren niet uitbundig gekruid. Maar het smaakte goed. Wij vonden de porties echter veel.te klein. Toen we dat meldden werd ons gezegd dat we er Naan (lees: brood) bij hadden moeten bestellen. En dat er nog nooit iemand over had geklaagd. Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3
