I don 't like giving poor reviews this place must be pretty ok, normally. My nephew and his wife really like this place, so this is where we went when my sister and I went to visit. I ordered a cheese burger, only cheese. Pretty simple, right? I guess I should have been more clear that I didn 't want a hockey puck on a bun! I asked for BBQ sauce and the response was I don 't know ....not let me see The cook found a little BBQ sauce in the back. I think it had been back there for a while! Maybe if our service had been a little better, if she cared....the meal wouldn 't have upset me. It 's a restaurant in a Florida tourist city, they 've got to step up their game!! Like I said, I don 't like giving bad reviews, but this was warranted! I wish I had taken pictures !

First, love the homage to cat Basil and dog Baxter Adorable local restaurant. We would return for the Shrimp Beignets alone...wow! Ali, our wait person, was amazing and the Chef unwrapped our grouper en papillote and then Jeanne, the owner visited with us...love supporting small, local businesses. Hubby's Pasta Jambalaya was also amazing. We will definitely place Basil+Baxter on our favorites list. Oh..and Oberon Cab by the carafe was a bonus. Go!!!

The food was outstanding, everyone loved each meal they had. The special was delicious and creative, featuring fresh local seafood. All the staff was efficient and friendly. Can't wait for my next trip to the area to get back for another fantastic visit here for dinner and bring more friends to experience.
