Bidrage med feedbackSince frankly won the World Cup in this night and nizza got crazy, I was happy to finally find a place. surprise! eating was great, I mean, really delicious and well prepared and service great despite the surrounding...criminality! je dis bravo!
The place is well located and well maintained. Food not bad as the service. Suitable for those who like we needed a break and recharge of city tour.
A lot of French restaurants turn up their noses if you ask for something freshly made at 4pm not so at the Piccolo Cafe. Being English, I had to have a Prince Charles sandwich, and it was possibly the best roast beef sandwich I...have ever had including those I have made for myself! A triple decker with lashings of perfectly cooked rare beef, tomatoes, lettuce, mustard and chips..... and a bucket of Affligem beer all for under €16 brilliant!
Place Garibaldi is certainly one of Nice's most charming and elegant squares, and it is ringed by wonderful cafes and restaurants. A new and needed addition has just owned up: Piccolo Caffe (on the corner with rue Catherine Segurane). This renovated and charming little place...is an alternative to the heavier three-course menus rolled out most of the other restaurants (including the Piccolo's own sister restaurant only two doors away). It offers a lighter fare of beautiful fresh salads, crepes and sandwiches. Americans beware: remarkably the French cook has created a BBQ sandwich (called pulled pork' here) that can rival anything you will find in North Carolina! Great spot for just a coffee, too. The sister restaurant Cafe de la Place is an excellent alternative for the more standard plat du jour' special menu, but if what you want is something a little lighter, head for the Piccolo. A few seats inside. Most outside, both in the sun and not.
Good idea to drink a drink before a restaurant or eat some tapas. the mojito is at 5€ and there are red or white sangria pichetes.
