We live the Sunday brunch a full English breakfast plate is offered and a Prime Rib dinner that will knock your socks off along with their Fish Chips served with their Englishare peas. Yum. The Resturant is small charming clean. Make a reservation especially after they close the scenic porch facing Rt 25 in the colder months.PS their eggy toast served w maple syrup and berries is to live for!
Great little restaurant in an adorable little town. Came here for dinner while nearby for work and saw this place on yelp. Pretty standard fare with some British leanings. Interior is kind of a dark pub and there is an exterior patio where we sat because it was a beautiful day outside. Ordered a smoked duck to start. The duck breast slices were perfectly cooked and the orange and the sauce just made all of the flavors pop. Amazing. For my main I got the Pat LaFrida NY Strip steak but in a sandwich. This normally comes on a roll with a side of french fries but I requested no roll and asparagus which they happily accommodated. There is a long list of toppings for the sandwich which includes local morel mushrooms and onion marmalade among others, I got all of them. And it was utterly delicious. The steak was cooked to a perfectly mid rare. I wish they didn't slice it for me but since this was technically a sandwich it was understandable. For dessert we got the classic british sticky toffee pudding. I've eaten Gordon Ramsay's version (which he made super famous) and the version here is just better. It was much more fluffy and less overly sweet. With the sauce and the ice cream on top it was just the perfect bite. This place was amazing and I would make a detour to come here again.
The restaurant is not up to snuff and it is small and the parking situation is horrific. First of all twice I ate there and twice I was highly disappointed. Grilled chicken was exrtemely dry. The owner, Dave Cooper, is a nasty, beligirent individual who would be better off going back to his native land instead of infuriating everyone here by always bringing up politics. I was told he was an opinionated individual by my friend but when I was there and introduced myself to him wouldn't you know it within minutes he felt compelled to broach the topic of politics and our president! I felt as if he was filtering his clientle and only preferred to have democrats frequenting his restaurant. Well, being a proud Republican I will never step foot in there agian and neither will many good friends of mine. He is unprofessional in many people's eyes and for his angry thoughts and hostile approach to the politics of AMERICA which is NOT his native country and for where he should be more than grateful that he lives he should keep his opinions under wraps he should leave. Take your dry chicken with you when you finally go! And, your bakery is a joke, too.
Damn fine fare. You can't possibly beat your return investment here, I have yet to be disappointed. Every dish is thoughtful and well crafted. Brunch I highly recommend the English breakfast where the blood sausage is a delight. Reminds me of morcilla in Spain. The fish chips is awesome and truly authentic. The service and staff is as expected, knowledgeable and professional. Give it a shot, it's by far best in the area.
Small, bright, awesome!! Friendly, prompt service. Delicious food for brunch, lunch or dinner. One of our favorite, go-to spots as a couple or small group. Great scones and other baked goods the bakerybehind the restaurant on the weekends.
