Ananthapuri - Newham

We had a disappointing experience at this restaurant last night. Not only was the food below average, but we also felt cheated when the manager marked several items on our bill as 'misc food' and charged us £90.00 for the meal. The prices seemed reasonable on the menu, but we were shocked by the final bill. The staff rushed us out, locked the doors, and pressured us to pay quickly. It felt like extortion, especially when we noticed they had inflated the prices by labeling items as 'misc food.' We were not happy with the way we were treated and would not recommend this place to others.

The food here took me back to my childhood in one mouthful. The beef fry was succulent and spicy and I enjoyed it with the flaky parathas, the mutton biryani was fragrant and subtle, my husband enjoyed the mutton thali and the crab curry with appams was an absolute treat! The service was courteous and the only reason I didn't give them 5 stars was because there was a 45 minute wait for the food to arrive. Having said that, it was worth every mouthful so I will definitely be returning there again.

Had the crabmasala and the Nadan chicken fairy... was tasty and spicy just as I like it. ambience can be improved, but otherwise eating is good.

Wanted to try something different, been here it was empty the most horrible customer service! Absolute disgraceful Place. The man standing there was not helpful at all, we ordered the food didn't even finish left as we didn't want to be there. Horrible experience!
