Bidrage med feedbackMy fiancée brought me to the lighthouse to suggest it. it was the most romantic perfect suggestion I could ever dream of. he booked a dinner meeting at 17:00-10:30 a.m.) for a Sunday in the mai. he had his friend come at 5 to the decorations (flowers, candles, signs) and our private host pam let them open. we arrived at 18 o'clock and when we came up, he gave his phone to pam to take up his suggestion. after the suggestion we went out to the balcony, where pam sunset pictures of us made with my ring. we then decided to order from modern oak grill, which was absolutely delicious. pam was able to try out our meals, so every cure was 20 minutes apart. she also had drinks in the ice that remained cold for us. there was also a stereo system that allowed the Bluetooth capacity, so we were able to pair my phone and I could play a Spotify playlist. overall the situation was perfect and I could not have asked for something better. we will definitely come back for future jubilees! just to note: there are many steps and a ladder, so maybe away from the heels or long dresses (thank you I was pre-warned to wear them not haha) and if they are afraid of height, this could not be the best place. If they want to go out on the balcony, they have to crawl through a short door, so warn when you are tall, watch your head! my fiancé is 6’3 and he met a few times on the chandelier. there is no bathroom, we used the restaurant next door, but when we left the lighthouse at 9:30 o'clock, the restaurant had closed.
We drove through newburyport and wanted to lunch with a beautiful view. I called what I thought was a restaurant and in that it was the lighthouse preservation company. they have money for lighthouse presevation. I asked if there is one table for four and the heart said yes, so we met a very generous, friendly, cordial hearty women who love this lighthouse. she took care of us for the next 4 hours. we go up the lighthouses 55 steps and the ladder up to a 6 feet high to get into the top of the lighthouse. we had a very good lunch. the decorated haddock by the starboard galley was great. we stayed for four hours while eating our clam chowder, then the haddock and dessert. with each cure, pam from the bottom of the lighthouse was created with more eating and coating. my 96yo mother bette could stand up and down and loved every minute of it. that was an experience of a lifetime. enjoy
We booked dinner in the lighthouse for our 25th anniversary, and it was a unique and wonderful experience! Although our plane from MI was delayed 3 hours, we still had 2 hours in the lighthouse, and eating dinner there by ourselves was romantic and fun. We probably didn't need the 5 hours you get when booking, but 3 would be optimal because we arrived just before sunset and would have liked to see the view in the light a bit longer. We would probably have chosen a different restaurant as well (Loretta's was o.k., but not great and pricey). Overall, this was a once-in-a-lifetime dining adventure I highly recommend!
This is a unique experience, no question. The Waitstaff has to do a tremendous amount of work for you, and they do so with grace and professionalism. There are, however, flaws with this adventure, depending on when you go. I imagine it's the ultimate romantic dinner experience. We went as a family of four for breakfast. BAD CALL. First, four adults do not easily fit in this space. We actually decided one of us would remain at ground level. If you have ANY form of physical limitations you'll feel them as the stairway is very narrow, as is the hatch and unless you're 6, you are not going out on the catwalk. It's not an exaggeration to say it is physically impossible. As to breakfast, the food was terrific. Service, 5 star, but the heat of the eastern sun rising on a warm morning was unbearable, even with what they refer to as air conditioning and a window cracked open. Put three sweaty adults in a small 8' x 8' space with a table unable to accommodate their dining needs, and the recipe for disaster is met. We were booked for 4.5 hours at great expense, and departed, after a real struggle to get down the ladder and stairs, after 90 minutes. Maybe this is better after sunset, and if you're under 100lbs and 4' tall, but for the average American, this is rough. Again, service was and is world class.
Historic lighthouse that features dining at the top! A super friendly staff member brought us our meal, traveling up and down the steps 5 times! It was a fun walk up the very narrow steps to reach the top and required a bit of dexerity to climb the last iron ladder up to get into the top. To access the outdoor balcony that runs around the top there is a small hatch, low to the ground and you need to maneuver yourself outside. That was a challenge along with the steps! But it was a nice evening and something different to do with great views.
